About Marianne Matzo
Marianne Matzo, PhD, APRN-CNP, FPCN, FAAN is a Professor and Ziegler Chair in Palliative Care Nursing at the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in Oklahoma City. She is also the Director of the Sooner Palliative Care Institute; Director of the Survivorship and Supportive Care Center at the Peggy and Charles Stephenson Cancer Center; and Adjunct Professor, Department of Geriatric Medicine.
Dr. Matzo was awarded a doctorate in Gerontology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston and a master’s degree in nursing from the Gerontological Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell. She has presented educational programs internationally on many topics relating to the care of the dying person, gerontological nursing, and curriculum development, and has authored 4 books and 45-peer-reviewed publications.
